It's Negroni Week and we're celebrating with our own delicious rum twist on the classic!
Negronis, a popular Italian cocktail, are all the rage in the drinking scene right now. While they’ve been around for over 100 years, it’s only recently that it has moved from being an ‘in-the-know’ order to a more widely acknowledged and marketed drink.
Traditionally, they are made with equal parts gin, vermouth and Campari – but we’ve taken this recipe and given it a gentler, spiced rum twist. This cocktail is ordinarily quite bitter and herby but adding our Blood Orange rum in place of the gin allows for a sweeter and smoother flavour that will make your tastebuds sing.
Why not give it a go?
25ml ARLU Blood Orange Rum
25ml sweet vermouth
To a mixing glass, add ice, rum, Campari and sweet vermouth.
Stir well, until the glass feels cold (about 30 secs).
Strain into an old-fashioned glass with one large ice cube.
Garnish with an orange peel twist, or a slice of blood orange when in season.
For the hardcore rum lovers, you can increase the amount of rum to 50ml for an extra punch of spicy, blood orange flavour.
We want to see you enjoying your rum, so don’t forget to share your creations with us @ARLUrum on Twitter and Instagram. We hope you love this negroni twist as much as we do.
